Get 1500km total range, 476 hp, 630Nm Torque all in one product by Chery i.e Tiggo X Flagship SUV with genuine off-road capability.
The official debut of the new flagship SUV, the Tiggo X, was unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show 2026. The Tiggo X, as an intelligent luxury product, combines hybrid performance, advanced driver assistance, and genuine off-road capability. By launching it, Chery will boost its access within an ever more competitive full-size SUV market that is rapidly shifting towards electrification and intelligent technology as the norm.
Pricing (Expected)
Eligible prices of the Tiggo X are yet to be determined. But in its flagship positioning, it is likely to be priced higher than the Tiggo 7L, which is around $10,900 (about ₹9 lakh). This implies that the Tiggo X may be priced much higher than in India, probably to include its luxury features, hybrid status, and big SUV status, and may cost as much as ₹18 lakh plus.

Tiggo Lineup Context
The Tigo family is the backbone of the Chery SUV line with a large range of compact- to full-sized models. Latest changes: The vernacular now has a 147 kW turbocharged engine and a 2,720 mm wheelbase, elevating it to a competitive player in the mid-size SUV market.
The Tiggo X has now been positioned at the top of this assembly, as a brand expanding into the large, three-row hybrid SUV segment, which is seeing swift growth worldwide.

Rising Competition in the Segment
The Tiggo X will be competing in a very competitive world dominated by plug-in hybrid SUVs. The BYD Great Tang is one of its closest competitors and has just received more than 30,000 pre-orders in 24 hours, with prices as low as $36,460 (about 30 lakh).
This influx underscores rising consumer expectations for long-range hybrid SUVs, prompting automakers such as Chery to hone their technology and performance.
Powertrain and Performance
The core of the Tiggo X lies in the innovative hybrid system by Chery, which won’t fail to impress with 476 hp and 630 Nm of torque. The customers will have an opportunity to enjoy 1.5T and 2.0T internal combustion engines, and the 8-speed automatic transmission to enjoy a pleasing driving performance.
The plug-in hybrid version is distinguished by an approximate 200 km pure-electric range, while the combined driving range exceeds 1,500 km, making it a perfect fit for both urban journeys and long-distance trips.
Chassis and Off-Road Capability
To improve ride comfort and handling across varying road conditions, Chery has fitted the Tiggo X with MRC electromagnetic adaptive suspension, which also enhances handling. Also, the Snow Leopard’s full-time four-wheel-drive system provides better traction and stability on difficult terrain.
These attributes not only make the Tiggo X a family SUV but also a practical all-terrain flagship, appealing to those who value versatility, not just luxury.
Intelligent Driving Technology
Tiggo X features a Falcon Pilot 700 smart driving assistant system with enhanced LiDAR sensors to improve environmental awareness.
The supporting Level 2 autonomous driving features include point-to-point assisted driving, adaptive cruise control, and lane management. Although these technologies help increase the convenience and safety, it is impossible to ignore driver supervision.
Market Positioning and Strategy
The Tiggo X is the full-size SUV in the main Tiggo line, placed above the Tiggo 9L but still below the premium Exeed line. Recent sales, however, show that the higher Tiggo segment is having certain problems. An example of this is the Tiggo 9 C-DM, which experienced a significant drop in sales, recording only 84 units in March 2026, compared to over 1,000 units in mid-2025.
This setting positions the Tiggo X as a vital product for Chery, could redefine its approach to the inexpensive hybrid SUV segment, and help the brand bounce back.
The Tiggo X is also the most ambitious SUV Chery has ever built, combining performance, technology and practicality. It would be a good competitor in the hybrid SUV market, which is changing competitively when priced competitively.
