BYD’s Latest Ti7 PHEV Upgrade reveal on 13 July 2026 which comes with 50 kWh battery, 230 km WLTC electric range, and expected 9 min flash charging for everyday driving.
A fresh chapter unfolding for BYD’s hybrid lineup as the Ti7 PHEV arrives with its biggest upgrade of till now. The China’s MIIT regulatory filing on 13 July 2026 reveals the SUV swaps its earlier battery options for new 50 kWh FinDreams LFP pack, unlocking an impressive 230 km WLTC electric-only range, and bringing plug-in hybrid driving closer than ever to a full EV experience.
Headline is not just the battery upgrade, the new Ti7 combines 154 hp 1.5-litre petrol engine with either 268 hp rear motor or 483 hp dual motor AWD system while an Upcoming Flash Charging feature likely to recharge from 10% to 97% in about nine minutes. With 2,000 kg towing capacity, prices beginning at 179,800 yuan, and more than 94,000 units sold in China, BYD is strengthening its position in the premium PHEV segment.
Battery Upgrade & EV Range
Well, the latest Ti7 PHEV update revolves around a completely New 50 kWh LFP Blade Battery develop by the BYD’s FinDreams battery division. This is a major jump from the earlier 26.6 kWh and 35.6 kWh battery choices offer on the crossover. The larger pack is design to reduce fuel use by allowing owners to complete most daily trips using electric power alone.
When comes to battery capacity, it grown smoothly over the previous versions. The first Ti7 PHEV offers 105 km WLTC electric range with its 26.6 kWh battery while the higher variant increases that to 140 km WLTC using 35.6 kWh pack. And the New 50 kWh battery now extends the figure to 230 km WLTC in rear wheel drive (RWD) model and 210 km WLTC in all wheel drive (AWD) version.
Now coming to another fact, the bigger battery naturally adds weight with the new pack shifts the balance at 384 kg, around 164 kg more than the entry-level battery which is replaced recetenly. Even with the added mass, BYD maintain strong efficiency, recording fuel consumption of 5.98 L/100 km for the rear-wheel-drive model and 6.3 L/100 km for the AWD version once the battery is fully used.
Another important improvement is charging technology. Earlier Ti7 PHEV models already supported fast charging with the smaller battery packs but the updated version is likely to introduce BYD’s Latest Flash Charging System. Under ideal conditions, it recharge the 50 kWh battery from 10% to 97% in just nine minutes which make the new Ti7 one of the fastest charging plug-in hybrid SUVs currently revealed.
Hybrid Powertrain Updates
Well, the upgraded Ti7 continues with BYD’s 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 115 kW (154 hp). Entry models pair it with a 200 kW (268 hp) electric motor, while the range-topping AWD version combines two electric motors to deliver a total 360 kW (483 hp). The high-performance variant also sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in around 4.8 seconds.
Exterior Styling & Design
The updated BYD Ti7 PHEV retains its bold SUV stance with dimensions of 4999 mm in length, 1995 mm in width, and 1865 mm in height which also supported by a 2920 mm wheelbase. And then comes the rugged design features a muscular body, upright front fascia, black body cladding, connected LED tail lamps, roof-mounted LiDAR on higher trims, and 19-inch or 20-inch alloy wheels that gives it a premium off-road-inspired appearance.
High Tech Premium Cabin
As you step inside cabin, the Ti7 feature-loaded interior will attract you with five seats in China and an optional seven seat layout overseas. The dashboard dominates by a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 26-inch head-up display, premium audio, ambient lighting, ventilated, heated & massage seats, a built-in refrigerator, and BYD’s latest DiLink smart cockpit.
Smart Chassis Suspension & Safety
This model is not about just performance, BYD equipped the New Ti7 with an advanced chassis focusing on comfort and stability. Higher trims feature the DiSus intelligent suspension while premium versions add God’s Eye driver assistance, roof-mounted LiDAR, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, a 360-degree camera, parking assist, and multiple airbags.
New Pricing & Rivals
The BYD Ti7 PHEV currently starts at 179,800 yuan and goes upto 239,800 yuan in China. And the New 50 kWh version likely to sit above the existing range, likely touching 245,000 yuan. This means the BYD India Prices may fall between ₹38 lakh to ₹48 lakh (ex-showroom), taking on rivals like the GWM Wey V8X, Onvo L90, Li Auto i8, Volkswagen ID. Aura T6, Aito M8, NIO ES8 Five-Seater, and Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700.
Well, the BYD Ti7 update proves that the next generation of plug-in hybrids is no longer just about saving fuel. BYD combines a much larger battery, practical electric driving, quick charging, and everyday usability into one package without pushing the price into luxury territory.
