Kia is all set to expand its electric vehicle portfolio in India with the Upcoming Syros EV, which is likely to make its official debut on 23 July 2026. Based on the popular Syros, the electric version promises premium features, two battery options, and a claimed driving range of upto 520 km which will make it one of Kia’s most important EV launches for the Indian market.
Just days before its unveiling, the Syros EV is spotted testing once again in full camouflage while charging at a public DC fast charger. This fresh sighting comes after an earlier undisguised appearance during a TV commercial shoot in Bengaluru, giving us a nearly complete picture of what Kia’s newest electric SUV will offer.
What Latest Spy Shots Reveal?
Ahead of its official debut, the Kia Syros EV is spotted testing again, this time while charging at a public DC fast charger. Unlike the earlier undisguised TVC shoot, the latest prototype remains covered in camouflage but confirms that testing is still underway. The charging port is position on the front-left fender, layout different from the Creta Electric and even Kia’s own Carens Clavis EV.
And the latest test mule also hints that Kia is validating charging performance and software calibration before launch. Earlier undisguised images already reveal a production-ready white model with green EV registration plates, suggesting the SUV enter its final production phase. Dealer sources also claim unofficial bookings begun for a token amount of ₹25,000.
Design, Cabin, & Features
With heavy camouflage, the Syros EV instantly recognizable as the regular Syros. Kia retain its quirky tall-boy stance and upright proportions but added EV specific touches like a slimmer closed grille, a tweaked front bumper, fresh EV badging, and newly design 17-inch dual tone aerodynamic alloy wheels. At 3,995 mm long with a 2,530 mm wheelbase and 1,720 mm height, this EV continues to promise one of the most spacious cabins in the sub 4 metre SUV segment.
As we step inside and the layout expected to feel familiar, but that’s not a bad thing. The dashboard likely to feature dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and the digital driver’s display, complemented by a separate 5-inch panel for climate controls. The boxy design may also translate into excellent headroom and impressive rear-seat space.

The Syros EV may offer a panoramic sunroof, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging, 64-colour ambient lighting, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, ventilated front seats, rear-seat ventilation, a powered driver’s seat, and paddle shifters to control regenerative braking. And all this gives Kia Syros EV a strong premium edge in the compact EV segment.
Battery, Performance, & Expected Price
Well, the Kia Syros EV will likely to use the same battery options offer in the Carens Clavis EV. The entry variant expected to use a 42 kWh battery with around 115 hp and a claimed driving range of 420 – 443 km while higher variants may get a 51.4 kWh battery that produces nearly 140 hp which also offers upto 520 km on a full charge.
As this model is built on Kia’s localized K1 platform, the SUV expected to feature MacPherson struts at the front, a twist-beam rear suspension, six airbags, ESC, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with Auto Hold and possibly Level 2 ADAS on higher trims.
And when comes to pricing, this will lie between ₹14 to ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom) and make this Kia Syros EV to compete with the Tata Nexon.ev, Tata Tigor EV, MG Windsor EV, and Upcoming Mahindra XUV3XO EV, while a rumoured 15-year or lifetime battery warranty could become one of its biggest highlights.
Well, the latest spied images confirms the Kia Syros EV is in its final testing phase before launch, leaving very few things to be most expected.
