BYD’s premium Fang Cheng Bao brand sparked interest in its upcoming Tai 9 flagship electric SUV after officially previewing the model on 29 June 2026 with additional technical information emerging on 30 June. The teaser highlights its bold boxy styling, roof-mounted LiDAR, BYD’s God’s Eye B advanced driver assistance system, next-generation Blade Battery, and ultra-fast flash-charging technology.
Set to become the brand’s largest SUV, the Tai 9 likely to measure around 5.3 metres in length with a wheelbase exceeding 3.1 metres. The SUV debuts a slim full-width LED daytime running light, vertically stacked headlamps, an illuminated Fang Cheng Bao logo, rugged bumper, roof-mounted LiDAR, flush door handles, roof rails, and large alloy wheels which confirm its premium but adventure-inspired styling direction.

As per sources, the battery can be charged from 10% to 70% in around five minutes under suitable ultra-fast DC charging conditions. BYD has not yet announced the battery capacity (kWh), official driving range (CLTC), charging power (kW), or compatible charging standards.
Power likely to come from a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup with one electric motor on each axle, delivering improved traction, and performance. The company has not yet disclosed the combined power output, torque figures, 0-100 km/h acceleration, top speed, or driving modes.
